I just recently purchased this Fresnel lens and used it the day after I received it to start a small fire with some tinder I collected. Once I found the right angle, it was a matter of a few minutes that I had a small flame.
This is a great product at a reasonable price.
Thanks

I tested my old Fresnel lens that only has 3x power to this 5x power one and I was able to create an ember much faster with this 5x power one.
I also found a 5x power Fresnel lens on ebay, but shipping takes way too long if I would of ordered through them.
I also carry in my wallet a Sog 2.0 access card knife and a thin 3 inch fire steel and with the back of the blade I can create great sparks to start a fire and I have a very nice back up blade where ever I go.

works well to start fires, I was surprised to see it was synthetic but it works and won't be likely to break.

Pulled this little guy out of the box and went right out back to try it out takes a little practice to find the sweet spot but once you get it you will have smoke and an ember in no time, we'll worth it would recommend to anyone.

Lots of punch for such a thin object! I tried cottonwood inner bark and charcloth with this little beaut...and I had fire within five seconds with both tinders. Nice and thin and light for my survival pack (another good way to start a fire).
