Alaskan Survival Snares.
6 - Pack
6oz. weight total per 6 pack.
I make these exactly the same way as the ones I use here in Interior Alaska to harvest a variety of small game and furbearers. Each snare starts off as a 5’ length of 1/16” 1x19 galvanized aircraft cable. I then fashion a 2” loop on the anchor end held by a triple-crimped aluminum ferrule. Next I install a twist on support collar and a cam lock before finishing the loop with a double-crimped aluminum stop. These are the perfect size for snowshoe hare, rabbit, raccoon, groundhog, opossum, skunk, river otter, beaver, fisher, bobcat, lynx, fox, etc. Lightweight, extremely versatile, and inexpensive. A great addition to any survival kit, bugout bag, trapping pack, or food procurement kit.
