Jack Mountain Bushcraft Master Maine Guide Pot Suspension System
Total Length of 42.222" per Maine Guide Spec.
#35 Fireproofed Sash Chain with a hand crimped S hook on either side.
I have used these for years and they are quick and easy for hanging pots above a fire. The chain wraps around your bail and S hook grabs the chain.
These are sized for hanging from a galley pole or tripod set at nipple height. When using these for hanging from a head height galley pole we recommend a loop of paracord around the pole and attach the chain to the cord.

Experimenting with alternate ways of cooking while motorcycle camping. Weight is not so much of an issue as compactness and flexibility. I can construct a tripod with local resources so a chain and pot is a good option and all I need for cooking most things on a fire. I like this chain because the links are small allowing it to literally pour into the empty spaces created by the other items stowed in my cook pot. A larger link chain does not have this advantage. It's very strong and would have no trouble supporting a large cast iron dutch oven. I could have searched around a few hardware stores and found something similar but it would have cost me about the same when you consider the gas, time and hassle. Plus I like buying stuff from Ben's Backwoods!

The fire chain is a simple and sturdy piece that will last for years. I’ll be using it to suspend my pot over an open flame. Prior to this, I just used a piece of paracord and hoped it would get too hot. Problem solved!
