I bought some, admittedly, cheap snowshoes on eBay for some light duty snowshoeing with my family. The first time out, we followed a relatively flat trail and then spent some time out on a frozen lake. All good so far. The next day we went on a four hour trek up and down a fairly steep ridge. The plastic bindings on both snowshoes broke and I was forced to try to tie everything together to limp back to camp.
I found the lampwick bindings at Ben's and quickly ordered them, vowing to be better prepared for my next trip. I watched all of the YouTube videos I could find, including Ben's fine video, on how to tie the bindings. I contacted Ben with some questions and was gratified to see that he responded very quickly with excellent answers to my questions. I have tested the new bindings and I believe they are superior in every way to the cheap plastic bindings. The traditional ways really are better!!

I got exactly what was promised with the length of lamp wick to use for two snowshoe bindings. Delivery was quick from the time of my order and the quality of the lamp wick is excellent. I appreciated the fact that Ben's Backwoods posted a link for a video to instruct how to lace the lamp wick onto a snowshoe properly using the correct technique. All in all, I have had a good experience with my order and product. I look forward to winter to finally use my snowshoes!

I had a bad experience fitting modern bindings on a set of wood and rawhide snowshoes and I decided to try the more traditional solution - lamp wick. I wasn’t expecting great results and I was wrong. With a little trial and error adjusting it to my boots I discovered it works far better than a modern binding. I had success with both winter moccasins and rubber boots.
Shipment was quick and I love supporting local businesses, like Ben’s.

I bought the lampwick to carry as a backup to my work bindings on traditional snowshoes. I figure, plastic buckles can break, so this would be good to carry, just in case.
I practiced a nice hitch and I'll be darned if this doesn't work as good or better than the work binding.
I probably could have saved myself some money and just used lampwick. Glad to have it.
Great service from Ben's too.

Ordered these for a pair of snow shoes I recently purchased. Making the bindings from lampwick was incredibly easy and works much better than the bindings that were on the snow shoes and were less than half the price of buying replacement bindings any place else. Very easy to put on, take off and adjust.
Ben's shipped these very quickly - ordered over the weekend and had them by Tuesday.

Lampwick works as promised and very sturdy material. I have no doubt they will work great as soon as I have a chance to go in the snow.
