I don't like to wear gloves when it's really cold, as my fingers just never get warm. In mittens, they can warm up just fine. The Woolpower mittens are fantastic! They are densely woven (though not windproof) and thick, but still thin enough to do a lot of things without having to take them off. They are very comfortable on the skin, with a soft terry cloth-like inner face. I like that they are long and go well up under the sleeve of your jacket to warm the wrist joint and prevent cold seepage. They are stretchy and retain their shape well. Also, you can wash them in hot water (140F) and dried in a dryer for easy care. They work well as a liner for a shell mitt for snowy or wet conditions, too.
